This was a letter to a penpal this morning about the day I spend with my daughter, Eden and her children   friends, husband and brother-in-law. It was a lovely day, hot..but then we were inside. The meal was delightful, and all of their fiestaware was set out so colorfully....The house they have lived in since 1997, and will probably continue to live in for a longer time..was such a perfect setting.

So...what I wrote:

Yesterday was nonstop "party"...for the Landow family..and I tagged along. Eden and Rob had people over for lunch..brunchy kind of lunch with omlets and grits {Comment for international friends......you have converted to grits haven't you ?.....or do you even know what grits are ?] Rob's brother Stu from Wash. D.C. is in town...

Their guests ...except for the family across the street...were from their wedding party...maid of honor...Eden's old high school classmate who used to cut classes with her (when Eden's grandmother gave her the car)...one of Rob's former classmates from Emory, Rich..

Rich's little 5 year old daughter went with Marti into her room..declared it a mess..and then proceeded..in her own way..to straighten it up.....Amazing difference when she was finished...What a kid. Never seen anything like it....

There were two birthday parties..Marti went to one..only she was invited, it was a classmate from her class...and then in the afternoon a party at a park for the daugher of one of Eden's colleagues and friends...a gal she is editing a newsletter for the disabled..some agency for....Jodi and her husband lived in Israel for a time, and the people there were mostly Jewish.

Lots ofstuff for grownups and kids alike... So....life in the affluent United States....all that food for lunch, then dropping in Chapter Eleven for pricy birthday present, and another at an even pricer children's shop...The Inner Child....The whole crowd is going to see the Braves play today..thank goodness, not me....

Made my first Yahoo sale today....actually think I lost money...listed the book at .99 and I bought it for 1.05 at a dollar store..but then I did read the book....

I am thinking of it as another form of librarianship...getting things to people who need them. A book will not be hard to mail..and I have all of this packaging left over from my Ebay auctions....

Am in touch now with 3 First lady doll collectors...am going to save their addresses and send the url for my web page to them..when I get it made.
